Muscular Dystrophy is a hereditary condition marked by progressive weakening and wasting of the muscles

Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa (MDFSA) is a registered non-profit organization.

 

In 1974, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Walker of Potchefstroom founded “The Muscular Dystrophy Research Foundation (MDRF) of South Africa”.

The purpose of MDF Gauteng is on improving the quality of life for those living with Muscular Dystrophy by means of counselling, group & emotional support, valuable information as well as referrals to genetic counseling and other clinics as well as assistance with specialized disability equipment if the funding is available.
